Magma Structures team expands

Magma Structures has expanded its team once again with two new specialist engineers.

Ryan Esdaile

Ryan EsdaileRyan achieved a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Naval Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2017.

He is currently delivering requirements for privately owned superyachts as part of Magma Structures’ Rig Support contracts.

This includes vessel health condition monitoring and condition based maintenance. He is also managing design and procurement for new specialist parts for the vessels, to ensure they stay in peak condition.

His varied Interests outside of work revolve around a myriad of water sports including sailing, kitesurfing and tinkering with the engine on his home built jet powered surfboard.

Alexandra Willis

Alexandra WillisAlexandra is currently on her summer placement with Magma Structures, working with the team to assist on the design of the composite rail bogie project.

This project has been jointly developed by Magma and ELG carbon fibre Ltd as part of a rail industry consortium.

She is currently studying for a MEng in Marine Technology at Newcastle University. A keen horse rider and skier, Alex is also an avid sailor, and enjoys time out in the local harbour during most weekends.
